Had I known you were coming I'd have baked you a cake
Dear nice day,
It is not that I don't love when you drop by, I would just like a little notice. Had I known you were going to be here today, I would have gotten more rest last night, maybe made a pic-nic basket, gotten my legs waxed so I could put on some shorts so we could go frolic at the beach, which I love oh-so close to but don't get opportunities to enjoy very often.
But now that you are here, put your feet up and linger as long as you can. I am unprepared to make the most of your brief visit, but I will make it as enjoyable as I can.

Dear Nice Day,
Had I known you were coming, I would have totally played hooky and spent the entire day with you! There's nothing I would like better than to lounge with you in various states of (un)dress in hot tubs, beaches and parks... it's too bad I'm working as a contractor right now because we could have had a nice bike ride over the hill from Montclair to collect some chanterelles and sunbathe on the side of a hill, watching birds and the sky.
