Ear blowing Marley on a Bum night.
Feb. 23rd, 2004 11:52 amIts a good thing
inkbot called into work last night. She would have not been a happy girl if she bothered to come in for the nothing that went on.
Some genius threw a Bob Marley after party for something that ended after midnight that started at 8:30. Thats 3 hours of guarenteed nothing right there. And then still, like 8 people showed. The Dj brought in a huge sound system for this. Z stood in the back of the room with a Decible Meter so they could push the volume up to the max legal level. Then they decided it was not important how loud it was inside and moved the meter outside so they could turn it up even more. So I am sitting mostly alone in the club with Marley and other mellow reggea blasting at ear bleeding levels. Conversation was impossible, but the random person here or there still tried.
This has been a terrible trend for people throwing events at Z. No promotion. No people. People think they can just throw a party and people just show. If you throw it, they will come. But it just doesn't work that way. People have to know if they are going to show.
It really pisses me off. Studio z has a bar guarantee, so they still get their money (with the occasional fucked up exception). No customers, I go home with nothing.
