we did it.
Dec. 7th, 2004 10:26 pmWe done did it. We done signed a lease.
Its a small place, but a one bedroom. Hardwood floors. A fire escape facing the ally. It is on Post at Polk. The Tender-Nob/Lower Nob Hill/Polk Gulch. I will miss the quiet and the clean of the Sunset. The walking to the corner store barefoot. Not being harassed in your own doorway. But it will also be nice being a bit more centraly located. Not so expensive cab ride at 4:30 in the drunken morning. I have always like Polk street. Hopefully I will like living by there for a whole year.
But now that its official, we need help. On thursday and possibly again friday. Yes, its that most hated of friends favors. We need help moving. Not so much with the lifting and packing. Its more of the "unloading in the tenderloin" thing. Need someone to stay with the vehicle while unloading, someone (or two) to bring things into the lobby from the vehicle, someone (or two) to put things in the little elevator, and another someone (or two) to take them into the apt.
I some of you have already seen Kits post. It would most likely be during the day, since Mike with the truck has practice at night.
Then, soon hopefully, a housewarming :)
Thanks guys.
And thanks Egan and Carrie and Jared for the places to stay in the between times. And thanks Shane for everything as well, and David and everyone else who offered. It is greatly appreciated.
