Jun. 4th, 2006 11:38 amOut of touch, missing it all and loving it.
I still love Lake George. Never could figure out exactly why, but I always have. Its beyond gorgeous, thats a given, but I am not a greenery lover. I am a desert rat. But Lake George gets under my skin just the same. I have never seen a picture, photo or painting, that does it justice.
I have missed a lot in SF, the Thunderdome bennefit, Craig Furgesons book signing (and damn I wanted to tell him I love him), and this wednesday, a tenants meeting with the new owners of the building. That might be a big deal.
But being around family has been great. As my cousin has said "Its funny how family is family". One of her daughters who is normally painfully shy and hides from all strangers hopped into my lap immediatly before I knew her name. I have been a human jungle gym for my niece and nephew and my... what do you call your cousins kids? 2nd cousins? Hmmm.
As great as it has been, I tell you, I can not wait to get to a place with NO KIDS. Man, they are tiring and draining and a whole lot more. I love them, but I want them to go away now.
Tonight, I head to Conneticut. Tomorrow, NYC.
