helicopters in my mind
Jun. 13th, 2007 02:32 pmI remember as kid, I wanted to be an airforce pilot. I out together model fighter planes. I would rush outside whenever I heard an airforce jet, Apache Attach Helicopter, or the like, to watch them go by. I would literally drop what I was doing and run outside.
One day, I was in my kitchen when I heard what was, by comparison, a thunderous noise in the sky. I ran into my backyard and peered up to are 7 Apaches in V formation. 2 minutes later 3 more followed along with a couple of those copters that are long and have two propellars, one on each end, usually used for moving troops. My heart sank into my stomach. I just felt something was wrong. This was unusual. activity. There were more copters that day and the next few days as well as jets flying sometimes 4 at a time. I worried privately as I would watch them fly over with awe.
A few days later, Operation Desert Shield was announced on the news.
I was reminded of the feeling I got that when I saw those copters in the sky today. As I was walking to Clement St. I saw up in the distance, flying relatively low, a grey, unmarked carrier plane the size of a small cruize ship. It flew slow over the Presidio. By the time I got to my destination, I saw it again, flying the complete opposite direction still over the Presidio and looking as if it were leaning to turn south. I immediatly flashed back to that feeling.
I guess I am paranoid due to the looming Iran situation. It doesn't help that I have been having trouble sleeping since I watched a handful of vocal politicians on CNN the other the other night, declaring the necessity of an Invasion of Iran to quell their treacherous, terrorist ways.
Dear Lord, please save me from Bush and his followers.
